JoAnn Vandegrift passed away August 16, 2026 at her home in Deepwater, MO.  JoAnn's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.

JoAnn was born May 25, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri to Joseph and Anna Chenoweth. She grew up alongside her brothers, Harold and Leroy Chenoweth. After finishing high school, JoAnn met Eddie Max Vandegrift, the man she would fall in love with and marry. Together, they raised four children: Eddie Joe, Steven, Kimberly and Melinda.

JoAnn pursued her passions by attending cosmetology school and earning her real estate license, expanding her career opportunities. She and Eddie owned a health food store and Van's General Merchandise Store.

Known for her bright spirit and strong beliefs, JoAnn was a devoted grandma to six grandchildren and later adopted four great-grandchildren: Anessa, Tyler, Jayven and Aziah Figgins.

JoAnn loved sharing stories about her children and adopted children, always keeping memories alive for those who met her.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Max Vandegrift and son Steven Vandegrift.

She is survived by her sons Eddie Joe Vandegrift, Tyler Figgins, Jayven Figgins and Aziah Figgins; her daughters Kim Masters, Melinda Burkett and Anessa Figgins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, in Clinton, MO.
