Joan Goucher Scrogham was born July 9, 1934 in Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of Alfred and Grace (Campbell) Goucher. She moved to Kansas City and was a waitress for Waid's Restaurant until 1969. After retiring she moved back to Clinton. She passed away at 11:15 A.M., Thursday , April 16, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
Joan was a mother extraordinaire not only having four children who called her mom but many more. She was all about family, kids and grandkids. She loved going and visiting with her children and grandchildren and was so proud of all of their accomplishments. She loved the simple life, drinking coffee, watching dolphins, pelicans, loved watching the outdoors especially the water. Whenever she would visit Pam and Roger's home in Florida as she was going back home she would always have to go to the back porch as she was leaving to see the view just one more time. She also loved to go to Las Vegas and in her later years was just as happy to go to the boats in Kansas City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Goucher and three sisters, Betty Jo Goucher, Mary Elizabeth Briggs and Nellie Witherspoon.

She is survived by her children: Debbie Carpenter (Jerry) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Pam Hennicke (Roger)of Niceville, Florida, Wes Scrogham (Diana)of Grain Valley, Missouri, Darrell Scrogham of Independence, Missouri; and six grandchildren, Cari Duffin (Darin), Kris Carpenter (Lauren), Lindsey Brown (Kyle) Matt Scrogham (Ashley), Adam Scrogham and Lauren Scrogham and six great-grandchildren, Gavin Duffin, Gracyn Duffin, Drake Brown, Kendall Carpenter, Easton Brown and Tenley Scrogham, as well as one brother, Jeryl Lee Goucher of Clinton, Missouri.
