Born August 1, 1938 in Klamoth Falls, Oregon to Rolla D. Chiles and Hallie Inskeep. Jerry loved hunting and the outdoors. Some of the stories he told the most were of his hunting trips to Colorado and Wyoming. Jerry had several occupations during his life including working on an oil rig in South America, shrimp boat in the Gulf of Mexico, and as a member of the Federal ammunition shooting team. For most of his life though he was a carpenter who took pride in his work building everything from room additions to luxury homes. Jerry was a kind and generous person with a quick wit and more than his share of down to earth wisdom.
He is survived by his wife Sharon and seven children Debbie Glenn and husband Jerry of Kansas City, Mo. Kimberly Miller and husband Greg of Climax Springs, Mo. Dan Chiles of Kansas City, Mo. Wayne Chiles and wife Anita of Kansas City, Mo. Tammy Crowell and husband David of Edwards, Mo. Jerald (Jeb) Chiles and wife Amber of Clinton, Mo. and Jeremy Chiles and wife Ashley of Clinton, Mo. He also is survived by sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren with two on the way.
He will be sorely missed but will live on in the hearts of the many lives that he touched.
