Jack was born January 28, 1930 in Benton County, the son of Elmer and Marie (Garland) Fristoe. He grew up on a farm near Palo, Missouri with his brothers, John, Bob, and Donnie, and his sisters, Velma and Mary. On May 12, 1949 he married Joyce Garoutte in Windsor, Missouri, who survives of the home. Jack served in the Army in the Korean War delivering supplies to the front lines at night without headlights. He told of the many trucks, that at daylight would reveal, had went over the side of the mountains. Jack and his brother, Bob, co-founded and operated Fristoe's Body Shop, in Clinton, for 34 years. He had a magic touch when it came to making a bent up car or truck look brand new. He also loved raising cattle and farming.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, and a sister-in-law Joan Mullins.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, daughter, Vicki (John) Harrison, granddaughter, April, great granddaughter, Hannah and great grandson, Cooper, also surviving, sister-in-law's, Vi Johns, and Jan Fristoe along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
