James Wilbert Stein, age 87 years, of Clinton, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Missouri. A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Rosary, Clinton, Missouri on Thursday November 2, 2017 at 12 PM. A visitation will be one hour prior to the Memorial also at Holy Rosary. James was born May 18, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Thomas and Marguerite (Wilbert) Stein.  He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Clinton Country Club.  James loved to golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother, Thomas James Stein, II.

Survivors include his wife Jane (Hatton) Stein of the home, 6 children; Fritz Stein (Allison) of Overland Park, KS, Chris Stein (Lucy) of Springfield, MO, Mike Stein (Kerry) of Kansas City, Missouri, Kathy Maggard (Pat) of Kansas City, MO, Sally Stein (Michelle Daniel) of Kansas City, MO, and Julie Cogell of Springfield, MO, 3 siblings; Thomas Stein of Rockville, IN, Mary Beth Peterson of Fairmont City, IL, and Barbara Burg of Lake St. Louis, MO, as well as 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
