In Loving Memory of James Willard "Spank" Moore
James Willard Moore, known by many as "Spank", passed away on September 21,2026. He was born in Sedalia, Missouri, to Jessie Glass and Jimmy Roark and was later adopted by Dale Moore. He made his home in Clinton, Missouri, where he spent much of his life. Spank was truly one of a kind. He was no ordinary person, funny, had a big heart and always knew how to have a good time. He had a personality that could fill a room, and those who knew him will remember his humor, his laughter and the memories he made with the people around him. Before illness changed his life, Spank worked in construction. He also enjoyed playing guitar, something that brought him happiness throughout his life.
Spank had no children of his own but was surrounded by family who loved him dearly. His niece, Crystal Chapman, lived with him for most of his life and they shared countless memories together. He was also a beloved great-uncle to Nicklette Chapman and his nephew Dustin Newell.
He is survived by his mother Jessie Glass, his brother Paul Moore, along with his Aunt Jewel Alexander and lots of cousins and many other family members and friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosanna McClure. And both his fathers.
Spank was known by many, loved by so many more, and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He left this world too soon, but we can find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. His memory will live on through stories, laughter and memories shared by all who loved him.
Rest easy, Spank. You were loved, you are missed, and will never be forgotten.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, in Clinton, Missouri.
