James Carroll Fenning, age 61 of Urich, Missouri (formerly of Kansas City, Missouri) passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Golden Living Center-Westwood, Clinton, Missouri. He donated his body to the Genesis Medical Education Research Institute in Mephis, Tennessee. The family suggests contributions to the Twin Lakes Hospice or the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, Missouri and may be sent to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton. He was a retired staff member of the Alameda Plaza Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri where he proudly served for nineteen years. He was a beloved member of the Fenning family, a lifelong fishing enthusiast and a generous friend to all.

He is survived by his life partner, Paula Shannon; one brother, Dan Fenning; two sisters, Penny Fenning and Sallie Melcher; a nephew, Alex Simon and a niece, Jill Melcher along with numerous friends and his extended family.
