Howard J. Cowan age 81, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at University Hospital Columbia, Missouri. Visitation will be 1-2 PM Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri. Funeral Service to follow at 2 PM. Burial with military honors to follow in Englewood Cemetery Clinton, Missouri. Memorial contributions to the Warrensburg VA Clinic, and can be left in care of the funeral home.

Howard was born October 26 ^th 1939 in Clinton Missouri to Howard Bradshaw and Luetta Elizabeth (Wilson) Cowan. Howard started working with LP Gas Company at the age of 16 years old. And worked there for more than 40 years. Howard was also in the Army National Guard and retired as an E8- 1 ^st Sargent. Howard loved to play golf and helping his brother-in-law take care of the golf course. He looked forward to watching his little grandson Kyler and his grandson Alex was there to help his PaPa with whatever he needed help with, Alex called him his idol. Howard taught them so much. He was so proud when his granddaughter was Valedictorian of her whole class. He took pride in all their accomplishments; his grandchildren brought him lots of joy.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Luetta Cowan, 2 sisters Mary Elizabeth Lupton and Margaret Irene Coulter. Howard is survived by his wife Linda Cowan, one son Bradshaw Cowan and wife Lynda, Daughter Lyndsey Wolfe and husband Kyle. 3 grand children Braelyn Janae, Alexander Lee, Kyler Aaron.
