Howard Kent Browitt, age 86, of Lincoln, Missouri, (formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri) passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home, Lincoln, Missouri. Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri. No visitation. Family suggests contributions to the Lincoln Community Nursing Home, Lincoln, Missouri and may be left at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton. Kent was born June 2, 1925 in Macon, Missouri the son of Thomas and Mary (McNabb) Browitt.

He was a member of the VFW Post 1668 and the King Hill Masonic Lodge No. 376, both in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He served in the U. S. Army during W. W. II at Guadalcanal in the South Pacific.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; two sisters; his ex-wife and long time friend, Marian Browitt; two children, Robert and Williamina and his son-in-law, Tom Bruns.

Kent is survived by two daughters, Connie Bruns of Clinton, Missouri and Janice (Jim) Talley of St. Joseph, Missouri; four granddaughters, Brandy Bruns Crowell (Kyle) of Bolivar, Missouri, McKenzie Bruns Newman of Clinton, Missouri, Jamie Talley Katz (Keith) of San Francisco, California and Jessica Talley Taylor (Jason) of Fairway, Kansas and tso great grandsons, Cougar and Max Crowell.
