Helen Louise (Stouffer) Hughes, 93 years, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital on the Plaza, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Leukemia Society and may be left in care of the funeral home. Helen was born on December 7, 1922 in Butler, Missouri to Clifford Buford Stouffer and Ola Mae Cumpton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton where she sang in the Spirit Lifters choir. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Mid-Day Optimist Club. Helen enjoyed painting and ceramics.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Forrest Hughes, one brother and one sister.

Among survivors are her son; Robert "Bob" Hughes (Sheryl Rayburn) of Windsor, Missouri, two grandchildren; Cassie Hughes of Clinton, Missouri and Michele Braswell and family of Absarokee, Montana, a nephew; Mike Stouffer (Chris) and a niece; Sherry Stouffer both of Overland Park, Kansas.
