Obituary

Georgia Kay (Tate) Palmer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at her home in Collins, Missouri. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

She was born on July 18, 1949, in Wyandotte County, Kansas, to Twila Bond-Williams and Donald Everett Tate.

Georgia was raised alongside her four siblings: her brother, Donald Tate and his wife, Effie Tate; her sister, Mary Radtke and her husband, Mark Radtke; her sister, Martha Rivera and her husband, Joe Rivera; and her sister, Margaret Salano.

Georgia shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, James M. Palmer. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and service to their country. She was a devoted military spouse who faithfully supported James throughout his distinguished military career, which spanned from his service in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War to his service in the United States Army during the Iraq War.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, James M. Palmer; her son, James L. Palmer of Winnemucca, Nevada; and her three daughters, Cynthia Zelosko of Fallon, Nevada, Crystal Palmer of Elko, Nevada, and Lori Head of Cookeville, Tennessee.

Georgia was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Katie Lynn Phelps, Cheyenne Harris, Felicity Palmer, Lyberti Palmer, Annaliza Palmer, Gordan D. Fletcher, Ashley Lynch, Travis Head, and Kylee Head. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
