George William Smith, age 83 years, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, Missouri. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with burial in Vansant Road Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. George was born July 17,1931 in Henry County, Missouri, the son of Glen J. and Dorothea L. (Woody) Smith. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Smith's Saw Mill for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma J. Smith of the home; a brother-in-law, Ted Legall of Blairstown, Missouri; a sister-in-law Elaine Helphrey of Adrian, Missouri as well as a number of nieces and nephews and their families.
