George W. Johnson, age 88 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Beverly Living Center-Westwood, Clinton, Missouri. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with burial in Urich Cemetery, Urich, Missouri. Family will receive friends one hour before the service on Saturday at the chapel. Family suggests contributions to the Clinton Senior Center and may be left at the funeral home.

George was born in Clinton, Missouri. on September 11, 1918 the son of George W. Johnson, Sr. and Elsie May (White) Johnson. He was a member of the U.S.Navy during W.W. II. He was employed by Vendo Company in Kansas City, Missouri and later worked for American National Insurance Company before retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Northeast Baptist Church, Clinton, the V.F.W. Post 1984, Clinton and the Clinton Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife, Edna of the home; one step-son, Jim Widick of Odom, Texas; two step-daughters, Shirley Miller of Butler, Missouri and Anne Horn and husband, Brent of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; two step-grandsons, Darin Widick and wife, Susan of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Mark Miller and wife, Joni of Butler, Missouri; five step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren.
