Obituary

On a beautiful, early spring morning, Geneva Lee DeGraffenreid completed her journey on earth and found her place in eternity. She was a gentle, quiet woman ~ full of hope and gratitude. She found peace and joy in the simple things in life.
Geneva was born in San Angelo, Texas on July 07, 1923 to Virgil and Rella Decker. She cherished her time spent with her six siblings and parents, both as a child growing up and as an adult through family gatherings and vacations.
On March 19,1941, Geneva married the one true love of her life, Clifford Lee DeGraffenreid. Together they farmed and worked hard to raise a family of five ~ Beverly, Jim, Sharon, Joey, and Larry. Geneva's deep faith in God, her unconditional love, her kindness to others, her values, and her unwavering strength during adversity remain a guiding light to her family.
As grandchildren became a part of Geneva's life, she discovered new joys and found a special place in her heart for each of them.
Geneva was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Lee in 2005, her son, Joey in 1974, a grandson Larry Lee in 1979, her parents Virgil and Rella, three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by four children ~ Beverly Kerns (Urich,MO.), Jim DeGraffenreid (Davenport, WA.), and Sharon Henderson-Freed (Kennewick, WA.), and Larry DeGraffenreid (Clinton, MO.).She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, a special niece, Lindy Kay Pierson of Central Point, Oregon, and extended family member, Kay DeGraffenreid of Clinton, MO.
We are thankful for the tender, loving care given to Geneva throughout the past three years by Irma Strasinger and the other angels of Quality Home Healthcare. Twin lakes Hospice made an incredible difference in Geneva's life the past three months. Their compassion towards her and our family will never be forgotten.
And, Marybeth, loving granddaughter, what would we have done without you? You were a ray of sunshine through six long months.

We love you and cherish our memories.
