Everett Eugene "Gene" Witherspoon, age 68 of Clinton passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 5, 2013 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton. Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the chapel. Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. Gene was born in Deepwater, Missouri, May 27, 1945, the son of William Everett and Louella Pearl (Bohrn) Witherspoon. He was a plumber. He was a member of the Northeast Baptist Church, Clinton and a former member of the Eagles in Clinton.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; one daughter, Valerie Baumgarden-Barker and Robert of Clinton; one brother, Buster Witherspoon of Clinton; one sister, Ruth Parks of Calhoun, Missouri and two grandchildren, Christina Baumgarden and Michael Baumgarden.
