Eugene West, age 78 of Clinton passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Clinton Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Clinton. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri with burial in the Carrsville Cemetery, Chilhowee. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Family suggests memorial contributions to Carrsville Cemetery or Chilhowee Methodist Church and can be left at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home. Eugene was a farm laborer. He attended the Chilhowee Methodist Church in his younger years.

He is survived by two brothers, Arvel West and wife Katie of Clinton and Marvie West and wife Opal of Indepedence, Missouri, and a brother-in-law Bud Wilson of Clinton; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Clara West; two sisters, Marie Wilson and Evelyn Einspahr; and two brothers, Alva West and Ethmer West.
