Ellen Laverne Neal, age 76, of Urich, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Blue Springs, Missouri. Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Urich Cemetery, Urich, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. Ellen Laverne was born in Gerster, Missouri, the daughter of Harvey and Dorothy (Wheeler) Baumgarden. She was a graduate of the Urich High School. Laverne was married to Forrest "Bud" Neal who preceded her in death. She worked for Rival as a machine operator until she retired in 1997.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Dorothy Baumgarden; her husband, Forrest "Bud" Neal; one son, Gary Neal; one granddaughter, Susan Steward two brothers Cecil Baumgarden and Earl Francis Baumgarden.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Hartner and husband Mike of Blue Springs, Missouri and Susan Coleman and husband Terry of Linn Valley, Kansas as well as eight grandchildren, seven great-granchildren and one on the way.
