Edith was born February 25,1918, in Clinton, the firstborn daughter of John Hart Temple and Mary Etta (Peterman) Temple. Edith grew up in Clinton and attended the Clinton First Baptist Church. She was baptized on December 4, 1932 at the age of 14. While obtaining her schooling in Clinton she met her true love, Lavern S. Riffel. They
were married on August 20, 1936 in Olathe, Kansas. Edith worked side by side with her husband as owners of Riffel's Flowers for 35 years. They grew beautiful flowers and lovingly designed arrangements for their customers before retiring in 1978. Edith
enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home across the country, usually
journeying along with their closest friends. They became "snowbirds" every winter as
they made their yearly trip to Arizona. Edith and Lavern were active members of the Clinton First Baptist Church where she thoroughly enjoyed decorating the sanctuary weekly and on special occasions.

She was a member ofthe Order of Eastern Star and the Good Neighbor Sam Club. She loved knitting and quilting and was very artistic at painting and decoupage. Edith had a caring spirit for all ages, especially the elderly and enjoyed visiting with all those who crossed her path. All who loved her are aware of her generous, friendly character that reflected the love of Christ which she displayed to all she met. Even with all the time they spent working for their business, Edith and Lavern raised their two daughters in a Christian home. Edith cherished her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She was always ready to play a game of Mexican dominoes and share a Diet Coke with you!

Mr. and Mrs. Riffel were truly blessed by God as they faithfully traveled hand in hand through life as husband and wife celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary in 2011. It is difficult to think of one without the other. Now, they are reunited in Paradise, along with their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Charlene Hull, in 1994; and her husband, Lavern, in April, 2012.

She is survived by one sister, Edna Johnson, Clinton; a daughter, Wanda Lee Riffel Smith and husband, Dale, Tempe, Arizona; four grandchildren, Kelly Grimes and husband, Dale, Urich, Ronnie Hull and wife, Stephanie, Independence, Stephanie Smith of Chandler, Aizona, and Robert Smith and wife, Kate, of Flagstaff, Arizona; five greatgrandchildren, Christian Kimble, and husband, Kerry, Burkbumett, Texas, Clayton Grimes, and wife, Melissa, Phoenix, Arizona, Abineau and Lance Smith, Flagstaff;
