Dorothy Jean Landon, born October 3, 1930, 5 miles northeast of Leeton to Gomer and Ila Marie McCannon Landon. She was an only child and attended the Cold Springs School. At age 12 she and her parents moved to K.C., Missouri. Dorothy had spent the early years of her life with her Grandmother Landon; the best years of her life!

At age 12 she was baptized, after accepting Jesus as her Savior; into the Leeton Baptist Church.
After graduating from the Manual High School in 1948 in K.C, she worked and retired from S.W. Bell Telephone Company.

In 1962 she married Merle Marvin Mickens and he preceded her in death in 1962. In 1981 she married Leonard Clyde Dickson. From this union she had a beloved step-son L.C. Dickson, Jr. of Lewiston, Idaho. After a divorce, Dorothy took her maiden name.

In December 1948 her dear Grandmother Landon and friend went to her heavenly home to be with Jesus. A great reunion was now in order, Praise God! She was also preceded in death by her father in June 1979 and mother in February 1993.

July 9, 1994 Dorothy left her home in Leeton and moved to Clinton. There she became a Nazarene and came closer to her Lord Jesus and Savior.

Dorothy's health as an infant was "ify", spinal meningitis, but God was good. He spared her life and the handicaps that usually proceeded afterwards were minimal. She was blessed with numerous healings and praised the Lord for them. Attending the "Christian Women's Luncheons" and Chilhowee Senior Citizens, also Golden Agers in Warrensburg were her hobbies, plus Bible studies. She was a member of the Clinton Nazarene Church, a Charter member of the Leeton Baptist Church, the Christians Women's Club, and also an Alzhzeimer's Support Group. Life was good for Dorothy. Now a new phase of Life which calls for a celebration is here.
