Donald Hestand, age 62 of Warsaw passed away at his home on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com . A memorial service for Donald will be on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 1pm at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Suicide Prevention and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Donald Eugene Hestand was born on December 1, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up in Independence, Missouri and graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1973. Don worked as an automotive painter for most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father Carl D. Hestand and brothers Floyd D. and Ellis Hestand, and one sister Sharon Wilson Hestand.

He is survived by his son Michael and wife Angela and daughter Laighona and son Austin, his life mate, Mary Means of the home, his mother Nellie Hestand in Liberty, Missouri. Sisters Judy Grimes, Carthage, Missouri, Mary Fuller, Ottawa, Kansas, Bettie Hancock, Apache, Arizona, Carol Hestand, Independence, Missouri, brother Dennis Hestand, Clinton, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be missed by many.
