Dixie Jean Higgins, age 70, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at her home in Clinton, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Butler, Missouri. Dixie Jean Higgins was born on July 9, 1953 in Appleton City, Missouri, the daughter of Leo Andrew Higgins and Virginia (Jewett) Higgins. Dixie lived in California with her family from 1957 until 1972 then moved back to Butler, Missouri. Dixie loved to travel with her parents, loved family celebrations. She would love to wear her cowboy boots, she loved to ride her horse, loved her dog Maxi and loved watching her Western shows and listening to music.

Dixie is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Judith Ann.

Survivors include her two brothers; Kent (Ellen) Higgins of Montrose, Missouri, and Jerry (Patricia) Higgins of Golden, Colorado.

The family wants to thank the Share and Care staff for taking such great care of her for many years.
