Denver's Family relocated to Central California when he was very young and attended school and graduated from Tokay HS in Lodi, California. After graduation he entered a mechanic's trade school and after graduating from Trade school he went to work for Lift Truck Service, Inc. where his dad was manager. After His father retired Denver went to work for Fleming Foods, as a forklift mechanic and later went to work for Hyster Material Handling, as a mechanic and later moved into sales position.
In 2006 Denver moved back to Missouri to help his father on the farm and went to work for Heritage Tractor in Clinton, Missouri and then for Golden Valley Tractor. In his spare time he enjoyed watching Golf, and of course Westerns as most of the Houk men do.
Denver had a passion for nature, he always fed the birds and enjoyed watching them, if there was a back road to take he knew it, and took it always on the search for deer. At the first word that someone had found a Morel mushroom he would be on the hunt and had a real knack for finding them.
From the time that he moved to Deepwater he faithfully attend the First Baptist Church. Everyone who knew him would acknowledge that he was a humble and trusted friend that would help you in any way that he could.
Denver was preceded in death by his grand-parents, his father; Denver Eugene Houk, Three Uncles; Jim, Kenneth and Edward Houk; Two Aunts; Margie Lightle and Janice Hamby; one Step-brother; Shawn Logan.
