Obituary

Daniel Justis, age 58, of Clinton, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 at Research Hospital, Kansas City, MO.  Condolences and fond memories may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com . A Memorial Service for Dan will be on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 3pm at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.

Daniel "Big Dan" Ray Justis

After the toughest fight of his life, Daniel "Big Dan" Ray Justis, a loving husband and faithful friend to many, passed away at the age of 58 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO from glioblastoma.

Dan was born on December 19, 1960 in Clinton, MO to Mary (Goodrich) and Jesse Justis. He grew up in Clinton with his brother Darryl Justis. He is a graduate of Clinton High School, class of 1979. He was retired from Henry County Public Water Supply District #3 as the Water District Supervisor and was an aficionado of music.
Dan married Christi (Palmer) Justis on October 9, 2004. He enjoyed gatherings at "The Red Shed Saloon" celebrating happiness and enjoying life with his many dear friends. Big Dan was a man of many words of life's adventures and rarely did he meet a stranger.
Dan is survived by his wife Christi, three children Jeremy (Jenny) Tidmore, Brandon (Ruth) Tidmore, and Lexye (David) Shockley, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his mother Mary, brother Darryl (Celinda) Justis, and one niece, Amy Justis. He is also survived by his father and mother in law, John and Anna Palmer.
Dan's request was to be cremated.
The family has intrusted Vansant-Mills Funeral Home and ask that donations be made to the Boy Scouts Troop #1225 and Clinton Animal Shelter in memory of Dan in lieu of flowers.
