Charles was born October 5, 1959 and died June 17, 2016 as the result of a semi-truck accident in Dalhart, Texas. He was the son of Nell Jeanette Leggett Olsen and Charles Edward Olsen, Sr. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida.
Charles went to school and grew up in Orange Park, Florida. He was a very talented guy and legend has it that when he was young you could give him a box and a screwdriver and he was happy. He could put anything together, and if anyone had something that came in a box, they could take it to Charlie to put it together. He helped his uncle Olaf make 'snake leggings' out of camo material and metal and these were worn while hunting. He also helped his uncle Howard recover furniture and helped his Dad make tarps for a trucking company. He even helped a sister and brother-in-law build a wooden storage building.
At a very young age his uncle Mac taught him how to ride a motorcycle and that was the beginning of his love of riding, especially Harley's. Charlie rebuilt and painted motorcycles as well. He loved telling stories and when he would taunt his sister, Phyllis, she would remind him that she used to change his diapers! Charlie joined the U.S. Air Force when he was 18 years old serving 4 years, 6months, and 28 days in foreign service. After coming home he had many jobs and started driving "over the road" and had currently been employed with Challenger Trucking, Clinton, Missouri.
Charlie will be remembered for his love of life and family and striking up a conversation with anyone, anytime, anywhere.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nell Jeanette Leggett Olsen, and father, Charles Edward Olsen, Sr., his maternal grandmother, Hattie Elizabeth Hardin Leggett, and maternal grandfather, Norris Roger Leggett, paternal grandmother, Lillian Marie Otte Olsen, and paternal grandfather, Louis N. Olsen, a sister, Debbie Taylor, as well as a previous wife, Tony.
