Catherine J. Spurgeon, age 93 years, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Community Springs Healthcare, El Dorado Springs, Missouri. Services are Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2P.M., with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Catherine was born to Clarence and Mable (Boggs) Beaty on August 5, 1922, in Osceola, MO. She married Harrison Spurgeon in July 1948 in Reno, Nevada. Years later, the family moved from California back to Missouri.

Catherine worked primarily in the home and part time at the Lowry City Nursing Home. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her garden and finding treasures at local yard sales. She loved having her family together, especially spending time with grandchildren an great-grandchildren.

Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mable Beaty, her husband Harrison, her daughter Joyce and brothers Jack, Russell, Wallace and Paul.

She is survived by her sons Gary & Julie Burton of Florida and Jim Spurgeon of Clinton, MO, her brothers Buddy Beaty of Des Moines, IA, Virgil & Patsy Beaty of Clinton, MO and Robert Beaty of Bella Vista, AR. Also, seven grandchildren, Shawn Burton, Brett Burton, Jason Fick, Keri Barker, Ryan Burton, Amy Spurgeon and Jason Burton and twelve great-grandchildren.
