Carl L. Nash, Sr., age 87 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.

Carl was born June 19, 1926 in Clinton, Missouri, to Carl and Flossie (White) Nash.  He was an automobile mechanic, a basketball player, a member of the American Legion, a former City Councilman and Mayor Pro-tem, and an initiator of local little league baseball.Among survivors includes his children, Marilyn Abernathy, Carl Nash, Jr., Dan Nash all of Clinton and Gary Nash and wife, Kendra of Overland Park, Kansas, as well as 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.Carl was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia, a son Terry Nash, a grandson Jason Abernathy, a great-grandson Maurice Robinson, and two sisters - Mildred White and Jean Lewis.Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at the Antioch Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri.  The family suggests memorial contributions to Children's Mercy Hospital.Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
