Bonnie
Slaybaugh
Nov 14, 1935 — Feb 11, 2026
Clinton
Bonnie June Slaybaugh, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Bonnies wishes were for cremation with a private family burial in Englewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Clinton Animal Shelter (C.A.R.E.) and may be left in care of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home.
Bonnie was blessed with a loving family. She was one of five children born to Mike and Goldie (Borhn) Hunter and grew up in Clinton, Missouri. She married Mervin D. Slaybaugh, and together they raised two daughters, Trudy and Pam. Clinton remained their home throughout their lives.
Bonnie and Mervin enjoyed traveling, especially taking road trips to the Western United States. They liked visiting the mountains, seeing the sights, and stopping at casinos along the way. Later in life, Bonnie enjoyed taking day trips to the Kansas City casinos with her daughter Trudy and son‑in‑law Tim.
Animals were always important to Bonnie. She had many dogs over the years, each one special to her. She also enjoyed feeding birds and watching them from her screened‑in porch.
More than anything, Bonnie loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother who supported her family in everything they did. She loved unconditionally and with her whole heart, and she will be greatly missed.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Goldie Hunter; her husband, Mervin D. Slaybaugh; her daughter, Pamela Slaybaugh; her sisters, Barbara Wareham, Betty Johnson, and Darlene Hunter; and her lifelong friend, Myrna Wirsig.
She is survived by her daughter Trudy and son‑in‑law Tim Anderson of Clinton, Missouri; her grandchildren Abby (Jake) Bray of Independence, Missouri, Amanda (James) Long, Lacey (CJ) Rudolph, and Jesse (Jen) Anderson, all of Clinton; and her great‑grandchildren Alyssa Spangler, Chloe Long, Bonnie Ladd, Leo Phillips, Julius Rudoph, Nathan Anderson, and Andrew McCord. She is also survived by her brother, Russell Hunter, and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
