Obituary

Beverly C. Parrish, age 76 of Clinton, Missouri passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. A memorial service honoring the life of Beverly Christine Parrish will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Save Our World Ministries, 922 N. Main Street, Clinton, Missouri.

Beverly Christine (Burton) Parrish was born on December 25, 1949, in Appleton City, Missouri, to the late Troy and Adell Burton. She was the fourth of seven children born to this union.

Beverly received her education in Appleton City and graduated from Appleton City High School. After high school, she moved to Fresno, California, where she lived for many years before later making her home in Butler, Missouri, and then Clinton, Missouri.

Beverly was the loving mother of three children: Gregory Parrish Jr., Wandakee Parrish, and Jason Parrish. Her children were a very special part of her heart, and she loved them dearly. She was proud of them and the family they helped build.

Beverly worked in the medical field as a Medical Assistant for many years before retiring. She had a caring spirit, a creative mind, and a personality that people did not easily forget. She was funny, sweet, and loving, but those who knew her also knew that her sweetness could quickly turn off if you crossed her.

Beverly was an artist and enjoyed expressing her creativity. Her favorite color was red, and she loved collecting cows. She was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and never missed watching a game. One of her greatest joys was her beloved dog, Mayah, whom she loved dearly.

Beverly loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren. She talked about them often and carried great pride in each of them. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren: Dominic, Nathanial, Jevon, Jaia, Jacob, Joshua, Jason, Lillian, Natasha, Cheyenne, and Zoey; two great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.

Throughout her life, Beverly held close the lessons and sayings that shaped the way she lived. During the Vietnam War, she had a pen pal who once wrote a motto that stayed with her: "Be what you is—not what you isn't—cause when you is what you isn't, you isn't what you is." Beverly also believed in enjoying life and treating people the way you would want to be treated.

Beverly cherished fond memories of her grandmother, Mama Maude, and spoke of her often. Most importantly, Beverly was a lover of the Lord. She often read her Bible, which she kept faithfully by her bedside. Her faith was a meaningful part of her life and brought her comfort throughout the years.

Beverly departed this life on May 11, 2026, in Clinton, Missouri, where she lived.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Adell Burton; her sister, Carlene Ferguson; her brother, Robert Burton; and her granddaughter, Justine.

She leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Gregory Parrish Jr., Wandakee Parrish, and Jason Parrish and his wife, Ginger; her grandchildren, Dominic, Nathanial, Jevon, Jaia, Jacob, Joshua, Jason, Lillian, Natasha, Cheyenne, and Zoey; two great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; her brother, Anthony Burton; her sisters, Antoinette Young, Jacqueline Burton, and Sherie Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
