Betty Jean Townes, age 78 years, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Cross Creek Assisted Living Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, April 25, 2026 In Buckner Hill Cemetery, Buckner MO. Betty Jean (Robertson) Townes was born March 6, 1948 in Columbia, MO the daughter of Hershel and Mildred (Brightwell) Robertson. She worked for RE/MAX Southwest in Houston, TX for 40+ years. She was committed to her clients as a real estate agent and was available for them 24/7.  Betty enjoyed hiking and white water rafting. She also loved traveling with her significant other, Val Eberwein. They owned their own plane, and would jet off in their plane on lunch dates to Betty's favorite restaurant. Betty was a member of St. Luke's Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Houston, TX.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Hersel Robertson and Mildred Brightwell Robertson Cutbirth, and one sister, Vickie Jackman.

Survivors included her significant other Val Eberwein, 4 siblings; Bruce Robertson (Lynda) of Buckner, MO, Rick Robertson (Marie) of Columbia, MO, Paula Alexander of Clearwater, FL and Gail Robertson of Higginsville, MO, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
