Benjamin Earl Dody, Jr. was born May 5, 1934 in Clinton, MO, the son of Benjamin Earl Dody, Sr. and Hazel (Brubaker) Dody.

Ben was married to Glenda Rose (Johnson) Dody on June 26, 1953. They were married for 56 years and to this union were born two sons: Benjamin Earl Dody III, now deceased, and H. Brett Dody of Annandale, VA.

Ben was a Navy veteran, and had a fascinating career in the modernization of radio, signal and digital tape recording technologies. He worked alongside NASA engineers during the space race, he personally installed the recording device into the Nixon Whitehouse, etc. Later in life he worked in a university setting, too. Ben and Glenda moved around the country and spent many years in Southern California, before eventually retiring back to Missouri and their hometown of Clinton.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, and his eldest son. He is survived by his son, Brett, and daughter-in-law, Tannis Dody of the same home in Annandale, VA; his sister Donna Cruse of Hermitage, MO; five grandchildren; as well as four great-grandchildren.

He was an active member of Golden Valley Christian Church and leaves behind many friends and relatives in Henry County who will miss him dearly.
