Blanche Arvella "Arvie" Fenwick was born April 12, 1931 to Homer F. and Fanny K. (Harrison)Godley at their farm home near Taberville, MO. She was the fourth of eight children in their family. She attended the Taberville elementary school and Rockville High School, where she enjoyed playing basketball with the Rockville Panthers, and graduated with the class of 1949. After graduation she worked for a time at the Key Garment Co., in Ft. Scott, Kansas and the International Shoe Co. in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

On January 27,1950, Arvie and Bob Fenwick were married by Rev. Walter L. Johnson, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Arkansas and they were blessed with two lovely daughters, Linda and Patricia. They made their home first in Osceola then moved to a farm near Appleton City. Arvie was a wonderful homemaker, a faithful, loving wife and mother, care giver and friend to all who knew her. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed quilting with the ladies in the White Hall School community, the Ohio Christian Church, and the Christian Church of Liberal, MO. She was a great cook and won many blue ribbons at local fairs with her delicious home-made breads and desserts She also excelled in gardening, cultivating and preserving all kinds of fruits and vegetables for her family each year. Also she had not one but two of those proverbial green thumbs with beautiful flowers and plants everywhere inside and outside her home to prove it.

When the Lord called Bob from the plow to the pulpit and away to college and on to a life of pastoral ministry, Arvie took care of the home chores and easily became, as one lady described her "the perfect pastor's wife". She was a compassionate, faithful, praying, trusted friend and mentor to all the many people who came to her door. After retirement in Clinton in 2001 she enjoyed volunteer work with the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Clinton Senior Center.

Arvie was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Fanny, two sisters; Rose Long and Mary Breshears, two brothers; Clarence Godley and John Godley, and a son-in-law; Terry Mosier.
