Arble David Miller was born in Tipton, Missouri April 4, 1929 to Arble Weesen Miller and Effie Heath Huffman. He is survived by his wife Mary Rose Hofstetter Miller, daughter Cynthia Freund (Steven), son David Miller (Diana), and daughter Stephanie Flesher (Steven), two grandsons Jonathan Freund and Joshua Freund, one sister June Neis, and one brother Robert Miller. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

He attended Central Missouri State Teachers' College before enlisting in the U.S. Army. During the Korean War he spent 2 years in Japan working within the Army Security Agency. Because of a love of basketball fostered in high school he tried out and made the All Far East Army Team and ultimately was chosen for the all services team and was given the most valuable player trophy.

After returning from the Far East he attended the University of Missouri for one year. He then went to work for the Corps of Engineers doing surveying for various dam sites in Missouri, Kansas and Iowa.

In 1962 Mary and David purchased a root beer stand in Fayette, Missouri which was turned into Miller's Drive In with seating for sixty people. The Drive In was operated for 13 years. The business was sold in April 1976 and they purchased Riggles Café in Warrensburg which they operated for two years and then it was turned into a furniture store.

In 1977 David was employed by KOKO Radio Station as a salesman, later sales manager, and ultimately general manager. In 1993 he became sales manager for KIX 105, retiring from there in 1996.

Retirement years were spent doing lawn and gardening, fishing, traveling and best of all coffee with friends at Hardees and McDonalds on a daily basis.
