A. Elberta "Bert" Mitchell, age 80 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Wendesday, September 7, 2011 at Christian Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2011 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with interment in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Twin Lakes Hospice and they may be left in care of the funeral home. Bert was born in Worland, Missouri the daughter of George E. and Mary A. (Deaton) Scrogham. She was married to Eldon Mitchell, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2000. She worked as a caregiver for fifteen years. Bert was a member of First Baptist Church, Clinton, where she was very actively involved. She also was a volunteer at the Samaritan Center, Clinton.

Bert was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Scrogham; her husband, Eldon Mitchell; two brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her son Michael Mitchell of Clinton; two daughters, Carol Phillips of Raytown, Missouri and Teresa Hoy of Chilhowee, Missouri; Two sisters, Veldeane Stull of Hermiston, Oregon and Delma Mantle of Clinton, Iowa as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
